She leaned up and kissed him lightly. "I love you."

"Alice, are you sure about this?" He smiled down at her. Sincerity and certainty shined in his golden eyes.

She grinned. "Of course I am"

"You really want to spend your life with me?"

"My eternity. Nothing short of forever, Jasper."

"You saw this didn't you?" He seemed suspicious suddenly, but not mad.

"Let's just say this is no surprise." She kissed him again slowly.

He pulled back, looking down at her in love and affection. "Tomorrow then."

"Promise?" she whispered.

"Surprise!" Bella shouted into the chorus of yells.

Jessica didn't look surprised, she gripped Mike's arm and pulled him into the center of the room. "Wow, I had no idea!" She didn't lie well.

"Mike you told her didn't you?" Eric asked grumpily, dropping to sit down on the couch.

"Of course he did," Jessica confirmed, leaning up and kissing her boyfriend on the cheek.

"You two are so cute," Angela said from her seat by Bella.

Jessica glowed. "Thank you. I can't believe I'm 18!"

Bella sighed, trying to cover up her disappoint. She wished she was 18 already...

"What?" Edward asked her, looking annoyed and curious at the same time.

"Nothing," she answered casually.

"What?"

"Nothing," Rosalie repeated, glaring at Edward.

"You don't like Bella, do you?"

She rolled her eyes. "Certainly not. What's there to like about her?"

"Everything."

"It's no surprise you like her--"

"Love her," he interjected smoothly.

"You like her, because she's human. You always carried a fondness and soft spot for them."

"I did? I thought you were the one still carrying the surname of your human family?" His voice dripped with sarcasm.

Rosalie stormed out of the room.
