gleamingeyes, I hope you have an amazing holiday season and new year and everything. You mean alot to me and I want to thank you for your support. I miss you when you're not around. I hope you enjoy this even though it's dark.
Broken whispers and soft cries filled the air.
"Hermione. Hermione." The man shook her gently, trying to wake her up. "Hermione, wake up."
Her eyes fluttered open and she looked up at him. "Draco, oh Merlin." He brought his arms around her, holding her body in the cocoon of his warmth. Sliding her arms around him, she closed her eyes tightly to stop the tears that had gathered in her eyes from falling.
He rested his chin on the top of her head and rubbed her back, trying to calm her. "Don't cry." It was a command wrapped in a whispered caress. "They can't hurt you now. Your memories can't hurt you now."
Focusing on her breathing and his heartbeat, Hermione tried to calm now. She had had the nightmare again. They had been clawing at her clothes, trying to force her. Her own blood had been on her body as the pain made her shudder with its intensity. She never reached the end of the night. She never could stay asleep long enough to get to the part where Draco had killed them for her. For hurting her. For tormenting her. For defiling her.
It had been his first kill, but he told her he would never do anything different. The hatred in his eyes told her he was being truthful. He had loved her then and he loved her now. He wouldn't allow anyone to hurt her again. He wouldn't allow them to get to her.
Focusing on those thoughts helped Hermione relax against him. She closed her eyes and pulled him closer trying to get as close to possible to his protective heat.
"Hermione?"
She glanced up and his silver eyes were gleaming down at her filled with love. His gleaming eyes shone his feelings for her.
