White Picket Fence Dream
Everyone knows what they want
Everyone has thought about the future-
Who they will marry
How their kids will be
Names, dates, times
It seems like everyone
Wants that picket fence dream
2.5 kids with a minivan
A two story victorian house with
a picket fence that last forever
Everyone wants what everyone else has
No one is ever satisfied with healthy kids
And love and someone to live
Everyone has to have the best-
No matter what it costs
You see the people living in trailers
And you swear it will never be you
You'll find your love and make a life
A life that satisfies your dream
Cynical Dreamer
You believe everyone lies
Just like she did to you
Every lie left a bruise
Every kiss left a wound
You trusted fully in all
All she said she was
You've been bruised
And now you don't believe me
WHen I say all I say
Cynical dreamer
You dream of everything you want to beCynical dreamer
You won't trust the way to become
Everything you want to be
You're suspicious of everyone that cares
You wish you could trust
She started lying to you from first sight
And she continued to the last night
She held your heart and dropped it on the way out
Now you won't trust anyone
To even see it
Cynical dreamer
Why don't you trust me?
Was I the one that broke your heart?
I can't even get into your heart
You've glued the peices together
But they are crooked and there are gaps
Then you put them in a box
What You Do to me
You found her in the most unexpected place
But somehow she got to you
Deeper then most do
Jokes about mouth-to-mouth
Thoughts of your next conversation
Talks filled with awe and admiration
Because no one seemed to be like her
I never said a word
But most could see
Right through me
Everyone would see my heart
And most took a part
But not you, you were blind
To what you do to me
You dream of her
You let her, but didn't know
You'd one day have to let her go
You thought of her day and night
Picturing how it'd feel to hold her tight
You agreed for the sake of pride
I tried my herdest to help
As I saw you going lower
Which wishing you'd look at me
Just one, the way you looked at her
You didn't see right through me
I'm still alone, but I"m here
Trying to hold you above the tide
