"What's the definition of magic?" Professor Sprout asked the class. She stood uncharacteristically clean in front of the class. She had not even directed them to a greenhouse yet.
Everyone in the class shook their head or shrugged in unison.
"No one?" she tried to prompt again.
Everyone glanced around themselves to the other students in collective confusion.
"Well that's good!"
That class seemed taken back by Professor Spout's happiness over their lack of answer.
"Magic is indefinable. Magic just is. And everyone in Hogwarts would be wise to remember that."
The confused class looked at each other again speechless.
