Edward walked into the doors of the emergency area of the Phoenix hospital. He smiled as the nurses who noticed him didn't think about the fact that he wasn't supposed to be entering through the doors, but only thought of how good looking he was.
Another nurse readily told him the information he asked for when he smiled her.
"Room 337."
He entered the room without knocking and saw she was sleeping. Without trying to disturb her, he settled himself into the chair by her bed.
"Edward?" Her eyes fluttered open slowly, sensing his presence.
"Go back to sleep, Bella."

She didn't close her eyes instead she turned and smiled at him. "Why'd you come?"
"You were hurt – not that it's any surprise really – and I wanted to make sure you're alright."
She grabbed his hand. Her warmth comforted him, reminding him she was okay.
"It's dark out… It can't be visiting hours."
"The nurses here don't seem to care."
"You even dazzle woman in Phoenix, don't you?" She grinned.
He shrugged. "Until you I wasn't aware I dazzled people at all."
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath as a jolt of pain ran through her body.

He squeezed her hand. "Go back to sleep, Bella. I didn't come to Phoenix to see you in pain."
She gave him a forced smile. "I'm fine."
"How did you fall down a flight of stairs anyway?"
A red tint flushed her cheeks immediately. "It wasn't my fault. Phil left a pair of shoes on the top of the stairs."
"I thought he was in Florida."
"Normally. But we're at my mom's place for my visit since she's still reluctant to sell it. I wanted to come back one last time."
Her meaning was clear, and he shook his head.

The smell of blood was heavy in the air, making the blonde man's cravings become agonizingly painful, and the Texas sun boiled the liquid as the intoxicating smell tore at his senses.
He saw a sign of life in the distance. Ignoring the other, less appetizing, bodies on his way, he walked to the man eagerly and knelt.
The soldier reached toward him, silently pleading in his pain for help. Or mercy.
The man lowered his teeth to the man's neck and began to drink the delicious life of the dying man giving him the relief and mercy he sought.

Rosalie smiled, watching the sun rise over the ocean.
"Beautiful," Emmett whispered beside her, his cold hand grabbing hers.
"I love sunrises."
He didn't respond and she turned to look at him. He wasn't looking out at the sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean; he was looking at her with a look of pure love and devotion on his face.
She laughed and shook her head, realizing he had been calling her beautiful then turned back to the sunrise. Somehow, with a subtle reminder of the love she was blessed with, the sunrise looked more spectacular than the moment before.

The crimson of the blood stained her already red lips, making her look like she had just feasted.
Her eyes danced with her victory, her satisfaction. She smiled at him, a subtle movement of her mouth that sparked something carnal within him that only she could. Her flaming hair fell over her shoulders and down her back in an untamed and seductive way.
The smell of the blood still clung to the French air as the Paris street lights flickered on.
"Are you satisfied?"
"Not yet."
She leapt toward him suddenly, claiming his mouth with hers.
She tasted like blood.
