Alice looked up to the sky, the rain beating down on her face.
"What are you doing?" Jasper asked from behind her.
She grinned. Her eyes wide open, trying to collect the water despite the urge to close her eyes. "Trying to cry."
He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her back against his hard chest. "Trying to cry?" he questioned. His tongue flickered over her earlobe.
"If I get the rain to gather in my eyes, then blink, I'll cry." She didn't break her concentration.
"The water would be rain, not tears."
"They will be vampire, raindrop tears."
