50 Zacharias/Daphne SENTENCES [chart] [COMPLETE] (09.23.06)
beta: [livejournal.com profile] jandjsalmon
01. Air 02. Apples 03. Beginning 04. Bugs 05. Coffee
I watched him take his last breath; I watched him take in that air like he knew it was the last time. Daphne smiled as Zacharias ate the apple, because to her, it wasn't just a piece of fruit, it represented sin and temptation. Neither had chosen sides until they looked at each other; the only side they could take was with each other and that it was only the beginning. Their relationship was anything but bug-free, but the complications made it more fun. He always remembered how she took her coffee which always put a smile on her face.
06. Dark 07. Despair 08. Doors 09. Drink 10. Duty
Zacharias liked to watch her in the dark as she slept peacefully, so innocently, beside him. Her Slytherin demeanor was instantly gone and replaced with despair when she saw his bloody and dirty body lying on the ground. Zacharias was always the gentleman and even, more often than not, remembered to open doors for her. Over a drink they could discuss anything from politics to former classmates, which were sometimes the same topic, but never did they once discuss their relationship. It was his duty to protect her as an Auror, but it wasn't her duty to fall in love with him.
11. Earth 12. End 13. Fall 14. Fire 15. Flexible
When he kissed her Daphne felt like the earth shook beneath her, and she could only hold on tight so she didn't fall. Zacharias couldn't help but think, this is not the end, as he watched Daphne walk away. He watched in horror as she fell, and he knew he couldn't reach her in time to catch her. She had a fire, a passion for him she had never felt for anyone else, but not just in the bedroom, in every aspect of their relationship. She was flexible with him, lenient with what he did, but she wasn't going to bend about how he felt; he either loved her or he didn't.
16. Flying 17. Food 18. Foot 19. Grave 20. Green
Daphne secretly hated flying on a broom, but she allowed herself to take the skies when he was with her and she was able to hold onto him. Cooking wasn't Daphne's expertise, and Zacharias always thought it was funny to see her try. He was only a foot away, an arm's distance really, but with that lifeless look in his eyes, he might as well have been a hundred miles. The cemetery was nothing new to Daphne, but his grave was completely new and terrifying. Her school colors were green and silver, and Zacharias watched her stay glamorous and picture perfect when she smiled and shot jealous, poison darts with well placed words.
21. Head 22. Hollow 23. Honor 24. Hope 25. Light
Zacharias never knew what was going on in Daphne's head, but to him, her unpredictable attitude was one of her best qualities. The room felt more hollow than empty; the sounds of the street flowed in from the open window, echoing, and Daphne felt her knees fold beneath her when she realized his departure had caused this hollow feeling in her life. He pushed the woman away without knowing Daphne was watching him honor his vows. Coming home to her every night gave Zacharias hope that it could be like that, happy domestic bliss, for everyone who survived the war. She didn't turn off the light as she crawled into bed next to the sleeping form, because she wanted to watch him while he was blissfully unaware.
26. Lost 27. Metal 28. New 29. Old 30. Peace
When the rain began to fall, Daphne knew the world was crying for all it had lost. "Metal isn't practical for a wand," Zacharias whispered to her and Daphne looked over at him and he easily relented, "but you can have it if you really want..." When a particular relationship became old news, Daphne normally tossed it aside for a new one; love, though, was something entirely new to Daphne. Old friends mingled over drinks and cocktails while rehashing old times, but no one mentioned the new face accompanying Daphne. The only time there was peace in their household was when they were too busy making love to argue.
31. Poison 32. Pretty 33. Rain 34. Regret 35. Roses
Her words could be poison; they could cut through his heart like a knife even when she didn't mean them. Zacharias couldn't get over how pretty -- no, beautiful she looked in Muggle attire of jeans and a t-shirt. Neither cared that they were getting soaked from the rain; the only thing that Daphne could think about, and rather incoherently at that, was the feel of his cold, wet body pressed against hers as his lips devoured hers. Daphne didn't regret much, but she regretted the look of stark hurt that was on Zacharias' face when she told him to leave. "Jewelry is better," Daphne said as she took the roses from Zacharias and smelled them.
36. Secret 37. Snakes 38. Snow 39. Solid 40. Spring
Zacharias stroked Daphne's face as she smiled up at him, and wondered what secrets she was hiding from him. Daphne wasn't scared of snakes, but Zacharias couldn't help but watch the slimy predators circling around her hungrily. Her dress was as white as snow; actually Zacharias thought that it was whiter than snow, but he didn't say a word to her. She stood in front of him, solid and real, and he looked back wearing an expression of shock. "Spring reminds me of love," Daphne confined in Zacharias as they looked out the window.
41. Stable 42. Strange 43. Summer 44. Taboo 45. Ugly
Daphne looked at Zacharias and could only see a stable, reliable man with no hidden agenda; she was wrong. Zacharias wondered if anyone else would think it was strange that he liked to just hold Daphne. "Summer means no more school, no more us; let's make the most of what's left," Daphne whispered as she pressed Zacharias against the wall and kissed him. Zacharias couldn't help but wonder why falling in love with a Slytherin was so taboo at Hogwarts. When the towel accidentally dropped, Zacharias knew for certain that no part of Daphne was ugly.
46. War 47. Water 48. Welcome 49. Winter 50. Wood
The war had changed so much, but it hadn't changed their relationship; war had brought them closer, if that was possible, because they were so afraid of loosing each other. Zacharias thought that Daphne was like water, flowing in and out of lives and into many forms without settling on one for longer than she had to, but he was determined to contain the water for himself. "Welcome home," Daphne whispered huskily into Zacharias's ear as she wrapped her arms around him. "I hate winter; it's cold," Daphne complained, and she felt, almost instantly, Zacharias pull her close and under the covers. "Knock on wood," Zacharias advised as Daphne told him she loved him.

50 Ed/Gaia SENTENCES [chart] [COMPLETE] (10.07.06)
beta: [livejournal.com profile] jandjsalmon
01. Ring 02. Hero 03. Memory 04. Box 05. Run
Sometimes Gaia's life seemed like a boxing ring, with every person throwing punches at her and Ed not able to block any of them. To Ed, Gaia was a hero, but not for innocents, for herself. Gaia hated the memory of her mom's death and it took her ages to feel she was comfortable enough to share all of it with Ed. Gaia was a little extreme and out of the box, but what made her extreme made her beautiful. He knew she was always running from both her past and her enemies, but it hurt him more when she ran from him.
06. Hurricane 07. Wings 08. Cold 09. Red 10. Drink
Gaia was like a hurricane; she blew in Ed's life fiercely then she blew out just as quickly. After she said goodbye to him as she left, he could swear he saw wings grow on her back to allow her to fly and become free of all that was holding her back. She never knew how cold she had been sleeping alone at night until she woke up with his body next to her. She could just see the crimson red of his blood exploding from his head as the gun fired and took him from her forever in her mind's eye. Going for coffee with Ed for the first time didn't scare Gaia; nothing scared Gaia even when she spilt coffee on the obvious queen bee of Village School.
11. Midnight 12. Temptation 13. View 14. Music 15. Silk
Ed never did mind staying up until past midnight to talk to Gaia and make a milkshake. She never looked as beautiful or tempting as the time he actually woke up beside her. Ed thought the view of the familiar city lights was more beautiful when Gaia was sitting disgruntled by his side. The band Fearless's lyrics were the perfect music for Gaia, and Ed could see it in her face as she listened. He knew, without touching, that her skin and head was as smooth as silk, because her perfection could be nothing else.
16. Cover 17. Promise 18. Dream 19. Candle 20. Talent
Gaia's cover was that she was strong, fearless, and cold, but only Ed really knew she wore her heart on her sleeve. Gaia never promised she wouldn't leave Ed, but Ed was surprised when she actually came to say goodbye. When Gaia woke up the next morning, she felt as if her night with Ed was a dream come true until it turned into a nightmare in an instant. Ed didn't say it, but he loved the way Gaia wasn't the candles and music type of girl, but the one who just goes for what she wants when she feels the time is right. Gaia had many talents, most of which her dad taught her either directly or indirectly, but she never quite wanted or had the talent of luck until Ed showed up.
21. Silence 22. Journey 23. Fire 24. Strength 25. Mask
Enjoying the comfortable silences Gaia and Ed fell into sometimes was new to her. He knew her real journey was just beginning now that she knew the whole truth about her past, but he had a hard time facing that she didn't want him by her side the whole time. Even in her uncertainty - but never fear - he knew that she had a fiery sense of passion about everything. Gaia was could throw a man over her shoulder, but what Ed thought was her best feature was that she had the strength to handle whatever came her way, and God knew it was too much for the normal girl to handle. Gaia didn't hide behind a mask of make up like Heather, but to Ed, Gaia was much more beautiful.
26. Ice 27. Fall 28. Forgotten 29. Dance 30. Body
The moment Ed came back with the pancakes, he had felt an icy rejection from Gaia that he never thought could happen after the night before. Gaia never thought she could fall in love again after loosing Sam, but falling in love with Ed was natural and she knew she had fallen harder this time. Ed could see the haunting memories that Gaia could never forget in her eyes. Gaia has the grace of a dancer, but for some reason she refused to dance. She had the body of a goddess and it killed Ed to think all she saw was her faults.
31. Sacred 32. Farewells 33. World 34. Formal 35. Fever
Eating donuts on the park bench had become Ed and Gaia's sacred ritual. She wasn't good at goodbyes and she refused to say them until she actually had to leave him. Ed knew Gaia was a woman of the world, but she never could quite understand the high school world. Gaia could never see herself at formal dance like the prom, but she found herself wanting to going with Ed. Gaia was like a fever that Ed couldn't sweat out no matter how hard he tried; she was a virus that started to infect him the moment she was rude to him in the hallway.
36. Laugh 37. Lies 38. Forever 39. Overwhelmed 40. Whisper
He loved it when he was able to make her laugh for even a moment. She never actually lied to him, she merely withheld the whole truth on many occasions. Forever wasn't something he promised, but it was the last thing on her mind. Gaia couldn't be she could be so overwhelmed by something so good until the morning after her night with Ed. He had a way of turning her whispered pleas into screams before she knew what she was doing or what she was really asking.
41. Wait 42. Talk 43. Search 44. Hope 45. Eclipse
Ed normally never waited on anyone, people always stepped aside for the man in the wheelchair; Gaia constantly made him wait for her in every sense, and he was more than willing. She hardly ever talked about her family and past, so when she did he made sure it was there to listen. He tried to help her search for the answers to her past when she was willing to let him. She didn't want to hope that he would stick around after he found out about her past, but she let herself. Ed helped Gaia out of the eclipse her life had become when she least expected it.
46. Gravity 47. Highway 48. Unknown 49. Lock 50. Breathe
Gaia felt gravity weighing her heart and her life down until Ed gave her some much needed relief with friendship. Ed felt a knot in his throat as he watched Gaia catch the highway out of his life. She wasn't afraid of the unknown, of course, but she didn't like it, and he was the biggest unknown to her. She had locked herself away from things that could hurt her and things that she could love, but he seemed to not need a key in order to break through to her. "Breathe," Ed instructed Gaia, and when Gaia glared in return, Ed relented. "Find don't breathe, see if I care."

50 Matt/Christie SENTENCES [chart] [COMPLETE] (01.06.2007)
beta: n/a
01. Motion 02. Cool 03. Young 04. Last 05. Wrong
His hands were on her before she was able to truly move away, but the second his face was close to hers she turned away; it wasn’t right no matter how badly she wanted it. His demeanor was always cool, calm, and collected, but Christie liked to think of what was under this unfurled exterior and really underneath. She was too young; he was too mature and too old for her, but the fact didn't help her feelings at bay when she saw him. She wanted her last day at the con, her day with Matt, to last forever, but her dream came to a crashing halt when she had to go home. It was wrong; she wanted it so badly, to press her lips to his, to taste him and feel him, but she knew, deep in her heart, it was wrong because he had a girlfriend and it wasn't her.
06. Gentle 07. One 08. Thousand 09. King 10. Learn
His hard words had a gentle edge to them, like he was never trying to be harsh, he was just brutally honest with her. It took one look for her to realize that he held something that no one else did, but only for her; it took one kiss for her to be spirally out of control. Christie had a thousand things she wanted to say to Matt when she saw him at the con her second year, but all the words froze in her mouth when she saw his girlfriend. For some reason, during the year between the two cons, the card the king of hearts always reminded her of Matt. Christie knew she'd never learn to not love Matt, because never had to learn to love him in the first place.
11. Blur 12. Wait 13. Change 14. Command 15. Hold
The moment Matt saw Christie the rest of the crowd at the con, including his girlfriend, become a blur and the only thing in focus was Christie. Christie didn't care how long she had to wait for Matt -- she'd wait forever if she had to -- but she wouldn't help him cheat on his girlfriend. The first time Matt saw Christie at the second con he knew she had changed. Matt's demeanor commanded attention; his eyes commanded trust; his heart commanded love. Christie didn't know how long she had stood in his arms as he held her, but it felt like eternity in a mere second to her.
16. Need 17. Vision 18. Attention 19. Soul 20. Picture
Matt didn't just want her understanding and acceptance -- he needed it. Even with her vision clouded and blurred with tears, Christie could only see Matt and sought him for the comfort she needed. Matt didn't want unneeded attention -- that's why he wore the glasses -- but telling Christie to piss off wasn't what he wanted either. Christie didn't think that it was only his good looks that drew her to Matt, but it was the goodness, the purity in his soul that truly captured her attention. If a picture was worth a thousand words then the image of Matt with Emily was worth a million to Christie as it broke her heart.
21. Fool 22. Mad 23. Child 24. Now 25. Shadow
Matt thought he could fool Christie with Emily when she never called him, but the moment he saw her, he realized he was merely fooling himself. Emily got mad when someone glomped Matt, but Christie only smiled at the interaction knowing that Emily wasn't going to stop anyone. Christie couldn't believe how much like a child she could feel compared to Matt, but then she met Emily, and she might as well had been an infant for how young and imature she felt. Christie knew, without only three days to spend with Matt, she had to live in the now. Emily's presence with Matt was quick to cast a shadow over Christie's second con.
26. Goodbye 27. Hide 28. Fortune 29. Safe 30. Ghost
Christie didn't want to say goodbye to Matt the first time, but for some reason the thought of the next con gave her a hope that it would be okay. Christie didn't know how he did it or why, but she knew she couldn't hide anything from Matt even if she had tried. Christie felt like she'd gained a fortune of knowledge from her experiences with Matt. Matt wanted the mystery girl to feel safe, so he wrapped his arms around her to comfort her though he didn't know her name. Christie felt like Matt was a ghost her imagination created during the time between the two cons, but the sight of him proved her wrong.
31. Book 32. Eye 33. Never 34. Sing 35. Sudden
Christie wished she could have booked a table closer to Matt's. Christie seemed to forget about Matt's eye, because to her, it wasn't important to her; what she couldn't forget was how kind he was, and that's what was important. Christie hated the word never, and she refused to think it when it came to Matt -- when concerning Matt, never wasn't even part of her vocabulary; it was replaced with the word "destiny." Christie didn't like to sing, but in order to get Matt on the dancefoor, she'd do anything. Their connection was sudden and fierce; one moment they were strangers passing each other by at a con and the next moment he had her in his arms and she had never like she belonged more.
36. Stop 37. Time 38. Wash 39. Torn 40. History
Christie didn't want him to stop, she wanted to taste him again, but she knew he had to because of Emily. Time stood still as he held her in his arms as she cried. Christie's innocence and blind acceptance of Matt was enough to wash away years of rejection. Christie was torn between her heart and her head when it came to Matt because she wanted him with all her heart, but her head told her he had a girlfriend and it was wrong. Christie never knew three days could create a deep history until she met Matt and spent time with him.
41. Power 42. Bother 43. God 44. Wall 45. Naked
It was as if he wanted to assert his masculine power when he decked Derek, but Christie only felt a sense of protection and affection. Matt's sunglasses didn't bother Christie; they intrigued her and held a mystery she was determined to solve. Matt thought Christie looked so cute when she talked about Lida Zeff whom she seemed to think was a manga artist God. Christie couldn't resist trying to persuade Matt to dance when she saw him standing against the wall alone. Christie thought about the feel of Matt's kiss as she showered and felt guilty for it.
46. Drive 47. Harm 48. Precious 49. Hunger 50. Believe
On the drive to the con, Christie thought that she was in love with Derek, but on the drive back, she knew she was in love with Matt. Christie knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Matt would never harm her despite their short time together. They shared a precious moment in the rain until it was shattered by the truth. Like everyone at the con, Christie and Matt shared a hunger for pawky. Christie left her first con believing she had found love in Matt.
