Rating: PG (I think there's one or two swear words, but I don't recall)
Author's Notes: Another "fragment". I challenged myself to all dialog. I made it. But it's still kind of crappy. I guess I'll have to sporadically challenge myself to all dialog until I'm better at it. It IS about improving my writing after all. (Just so if someone actually reads it they can follow better: the first speaker is a boy; the second is girl)
"I knew I'd find you here."
"Go away."
"Why? It's me."
"So? Who cares who it is? I want to be alone!"
"Then why did you come here of all places?"
"Because my parents can't find me here."
"I can."
"Oh, special you."
"I am special. To you."
"What makes you think that?"
"The fact, I know where you go when you're fighting with your parents. The fact I've known you since I moved here."
"The fact that you have a big fat ego!"
"I do not."
"Whatever. Go away."
"I don't wanna. It's a free country isn't it?"
"If you don't live in the hell house, I suppose it is."
"Come on! It's not that bad!"
"Says someone who doesn't live there!"
"Says someone who knows that your parents love you!"
"Says someone who does anything they want!"
"Says someone who lo… who…"
"Who what?"
"Says someone who knows you."
"Shut up. You make no sense."
"I do to! It's you that doesn't. Always running, but you always go back."
"Well where do I have to go? Your house? Your parents will throw me out after they call my parents to pick me up."
"You're so difficult. If you'd just be—"
"A good girl? A twelve-year-old? A little solider? Not likely."
"Aren't you sick of running?"
"… No."
"Liar."
"Look who's talking! What are you doing here?"
"I came to bring you back before you get in trouble or your parents start to worry."
"They barely know I'm gone. I'll be back before they—"
"Which is why it's not so bad!"
"Your logic is faulty."
"Your brain is faulty."
"Nice comeback, genius."
"Nice copout, brainiac."
"I don't want to."
"Forget it then. I'll stay here with you. You can't get in too much trouble with me around."
"You're a beacon for trouble or have you forgotten?"
"Then why am I not grounded as much as you are?"
"Your parents aren't tyrants."
"Isn't it time you grow up?"
"No."
"Wow, that's really mature."
"I never said I was mature."
"I thought you were."
"… you were wrong."
"Obviously."
"Stop being a jerk."
"I will if you will."
"Oh forget it then."
"Nice."
"What?"
"Nothing. You'd think after fifteen years I'd be used to this by now."
"Used to what?"
"You."
"Gee, thanks. Make a girl feel good."
"That's not my job."
"Then tell me, what is your job?"
"To wait here with you until your anger and rebellion runs its course for now."
"That's gonna be awhile."
"I have all day."
"Don't you have something to do? Something that's not bugging me?"
"Nope. I freed up my whole day to wait it out… You know if you go home now, you can apologize and then go to pizza with me."
"Nope. Not going home."
"You don't run far enough to really get away you know?"
"I know."
"Good."
"…. Are you still here?"
"Yeah. Pretty boring, but yeah."
"Jerk."
"Stubborn brat. Is your temper tantrum done yet?"
"If you don't want to me here, go."
"Newsflash: this isn't about what I want."
"Good to know."
"It's all about you and your ego."
"Is not."

"Ready to go now?"
"Might as well face the music."
"Be a good girl and I might treat you to pizza."
