It was a small price to pay. It had been her fault anyway. She wasn't above knowing that she put others in danger. She hated it, but she knew it was true. There were too many coincidences, too many events that only pointed back to her.
"I'm sorry, Watanuki-kun," she whispered softly as she felt the tears running down her face. Not many people could say they made her cry. It was normally the other way around.
The payment was nothing compared to the purchase. She, and Doumeki, had paid for his life. Neither were ready to let him die.

Doumeki watched Himawari-chan and Watanuki-kun discreetly. He knew Watanuki-kun could easily waste the blood he had gave as payment. The boy was danger prone, but it didn't stop him from wanting to protect him, to keep him safe. And Himawari-chan had no choice in her curse.
Was it a curse?
Doumeki didn't care. The girl was as innocent as Watanuki-kun. He couldn't blame her for what she inflicted by just being in someone's presence. Who could expect someone to not be around anyone ever? It wasn't fair.
She paid the price daily, even though he only paid the price once.
