Summary: Rin is caughter with a village boy.

"You will never forget me," his cold voice told her.

"I know," she agreed, smiling up at him. His cold demeanor didn't bother her. She was not just used to it, but she expected it.

"I will never forget my Lord either," interrupted a higher, annoying voice.

"Yes, you won't..." he began. "She'll remember me for different reason than you, however."

"Better reasons?" she asked curiously.

"I suppose."

"I promise I'll never forget you."

He only nodded and continued to walk.

The swish of the Toukijin was so familiar she didn't respond at first. She continued to kiss the village boy until she felt his weight grow heavier on top of her all the sudden. She pushed him off her angrily. "Damn you," she muttered without thinking. When she glanced at the boy she saw no life in his eyes. "What..." she started to stutter.

She noticed the shadow a moment after she discovered the boy was lifeless. "Lord... Sesshomaru..." she acknowledged weakly trying to turn away from the powerful demon.

"What were you doing?" He sounded so bored, uncaring, but the fate of the boy said otherwise.

"What people do my age," she tried bravely. Sometimes he liked her submissive; other times he liked when she was forthcoming and strong. As soon as she looked in his golden amber eyes, she knew she had judged wrong. "I'm sorry," she added quickly.

"Stand up girl. Get dressed." She could feel his eyes watch her as she dressed slowly, but she didn't show any embarrassment. He had, of course, seen her naked before. This was just like the other times; nothing had changed.

"I'm sorry, Lord Sesshomaru. I had thought you wouldn't be back this soon," she apologized.

"That much is obvious. You have no marks on you. Was the boy hurting you?"

She gasped, staring at him. He had thought the village boy was hurting her. Surely he knew what they were doing; she knew it he knew. She felt confused, but at the same time touched by his concern. He had came to her "rescue" even though she hadn't needed to be rescued. "Hurting me? No..."

"Good." He turned away without another word. He began to walk away from her. "Are you coming?" he called emotionlessly over his shoulder.

"Yes..." she answered as she gathered her things. She glanced at his latest victim and whispered. "I'm sorry."

The village boy didn't respond or move.

"Come on girl!" Jaken's annoying voice rang out.

"Coming!" Rin yelled as she ran to catch up with Sesshomaru and Jaken.

"In the next village are you going to meet another young boy?" Jaken asked. His voice was riddeled with disgust; he made no attempt to hide his disgust over what she had been doing.

Rin glanced at Sesshomaru, who no doubt could hear the question, "No. I promise there will be no more village boys." There is only one boy for me… she thought. One demon, actually. She smiled softly to herself.

"Good." Sesshomaru suddenly interjected. Rin could swear she saw a ghost of a smile on his lips, but even the ghost faded away as quickly she it had appeared.

"I promise."
